Bright ruby red color with purple highlights. Intense and elegant aromas with a pleasant complexity that gracefully combines the fruity notes with the nuances lent by storage in oak and aging in the bottle. Well-bodied in the mouth, with a pleasant presence of fruit and a well-balanced oak flavor. A wine with good structure and yet elegant and easy to drink.
Oreglia pays homage to the man who changed the Argentine enology paradigms of early times. Francisco Oreglia was a passionate Salesian priest who spent most of his life in Mendoza, devoted to the education of young people. His greatest passion was teaching enology, so much so that he was responsible for profound changes in the process of learning the winemaking technique.
Part of his legacy were books which then became the fundamental stones for several generations of winemakers. In 1965, as a part of his vision, he succeeded in founding the Don Bosco School of Enology, the cradle of great Argentine winemakers.
Because of his relevant work in research and education, he is now held by many as "the father of Argentine enology." This is why Bodega Don Bosco has created a wine as a tribute to his work and legacy. Oreglia Malbec is a wine with some very interesting characteristics.
First of all, the team who developed the product was led by one of the great Argentine winemakers, who, in turn, had been a student of Oreglia's: Ángel Mendoza. Ángel, touched by the idea of developing a great wine to honor his teacher and mentor, gladly accepted. Because, in his own words, Francisco Oreglia played a very important role in his decision to devote his life to the noble task of making wine.
Second, the wine was made by following Oreglia's very principles, outlined 55 years ago. His techniques and practices were followed to the letter, leading to an excellent result, which present-day winemakers often attempt to reach through more complicated means.
Variety and region are also important attributes defining the character of this wine. This is a Malbec, Mendoza's emblematic variety, sourced from the Uco Valley, one of the best-known wine regions worldwide.
The passion and commitment of the whole team participating in making this special wine are worth pointing out. Everyone has made their best effort for this wine to be especially good. We extend a special acknowledgment to Susana Balbo for her contribution to the accomplishment of this homage.
This Malbec had 1 year of aging in barrels and, after an 18-month period of maturation in the bottle, has attained an attractive complexity and balance and is ready to delight consumers.
Oreglia Malbec is a tribute wine, created by an outstanding winemaker and a passionate work team as a homage to the father of Argentine enology. Oreglia Malbec: a great wine.
